    Clarice Akin Holloway (1905-1989)

    Mrs. Richard B. Dell Holloway Port Arthur Painter, teacher. A native of Port Arthur, Holloway graduated from nearby Lamar College, Beaumont, with honors. She received instruction or criticism on various occasions from Otis Dozier, Frederic Taubes, Elliott O'hara, Henri Gasser, Ted Schuyler, Fred Samuelson, Boardman Robinson, Morris Davidson, Jacob Getlar Smith, and Bud Biggs; she reportedly assisted Taubes in summer workshops between 1958 and 1978. Holloway taught privately in Port Arthur. She died in Port Arthur and her ashes were interred in Groves.
