An early San Jose table with the Maguey plant signature lower right in the center tile.
Biography
San Jose Pottery Tile Table
One of if not the finest San Jose pottery tables in existence.
Made for the Texas Centennial. This particular table has
a fun history. This table was gifted to a surgeon that saved
the life of a mother and child during childbirth. The husband
of the mother just happened to be the man that designed
and built magnificent tile tables for San Jose Pottery. The
husband / artist was so thankful that he presented to the
surgeon that saved his wife and child's life. I acquired it
from the granddaughter of the doctor.
