Palmer Chrisman began painting when he returned to Texas after his military service in WWII. He had established himself as a successful doctor when he began painting, and traded medical services for art lessons with Porfirio Salinas. His paintings portray the beautiful Texas Hill Country. The late President Lyndon B. Johnson once ordered thirty paintings to be given as Christmas gifts from the White House. Chrisman's art can be found in both private and public collections around the country.
