    Josephine Polley Golson (1869-1956)

    Josephine Polley Golson was the daughter of Joseph Benjamin and Martha LeGette Polley of Floresville. The Polleys were an important family in the early days of Wilson County. She was the granddaughter of Joseph and Mary Bailey Polley of Sutherland Springs. Born in 1869 in the historic “Polley Mansion,” Josephine married Edward M. Golson, an early merchant of Floresville, Josephine, who died in 1956, was the author of “Bailey’s Light” and other articles about Texas. She was a member of the Alamo Chapter Daughters of the Republic of Texas, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Her name appears on a charter of the Floresville Chapter No. 765 of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, dated March 7, 1904.
