Einfeldt was born in Preetz, Prussia, near the seaport city and naval base of Kiel, where he received early art training as an apprentice. For a time he decorated yachts, including Kaiser Wilhelm II's Hohenzollern. After service in the German army during World War I, Einfeldt came to the United States and settled in Houston in 1923.
He painted landscapes and worked for a time with his son George Einfeldt at the Houston Poster Advertising Company. Henry Einfeldt died at his home in Houston and was buried in the city.
