  Details

  The White Elephant was a segregated Texas Saloon.  That being said, I am guessing that all if not most businesses during that time period were segregated but this establishment proclaimed it in it's name.  The White Elephant served only Whites.  The Black Elephant Saloon only served Blacks.  There was a White Elephant Saloon in Fort Worth as well as in Fredericksburg Texas.
