- Although this piece is marked with an 8. It looks more like a 6 1/2 to 7 gallon size. Still the largest one I have owned or seen. I had a 6 gallon a few years ago.<br><br><br>

(legal document) Description Conveyance of property by Nancy V. Cranston, widow and legatee of John Cranston, to George H. Cranston [her son] for five hundred dollars. The property sold includes a parcel described as the "John Cranston dwelling and outhouses, stone factories and fixtures of every kind whatsoever embracing the entire tract sold to said John Cranston by Elenor Daugherty on the 23rd day of August 1854. The sale includes one undivided interest in and to all Potters clay or clay mines that are on or may be found in and upon a certain tract or parcel of land" located by A. H. Serren and being the privilege/benefits conveyed by A. H. Serren to John Cranston on August 23rd, 1853. The sale also includes the "exclusive right and privilege of digging, removing, and using potters clay from and upon" sixty-four acres and sold to John Cranston by John S. Lovejoy on July 5, 1854.
